As the holiday season begins, there is a quiet shift in the air. Lights start to glow in windows. People pause a little longer to smile at one another. Even the cold feels softer somehow, like the world is reminding us to slow down and pay attention to what truly matters.
And every year, around this time, we are reminded of something beautiful.
Small moments.
Warm moments.
Moments where everyone wants to feel like they belong.
This is the theme behind our Christmas campaign, the Gift of Belonging. Belonging is not a single moment. It is something we work to create all year long. Through your generosity, the Breton Ability Charitable Foundation helps the people we support feel valued, included, and connected in meaningful ways. Your kindness makes room for experiences that many of us take for granted, like joining a community event, visiting family, receiving a birthday gift, trying something new, or simply feeling remembered on a day that matters.
These moments may seem small, but they reach deep. They help the individuals we support feel seen. They build confidence. They create joy. They remind them that they are part of our community, not just during the holidays, but every day of the year.
This season, we invite you to help us give the Gift of Belonging. Your support ensures that no one feels left out. If you are able, we ask you to open your heart and help us continue this important work. A small gift from you can grow into a moment someone will carry with them forever.
Each month, a dedicated group of staff and volunteers meet as our Charitable Foundation Committee, and work together to help improve the lives of individuals residing at Breton Ability. Our committee is always seeking enthusiastic volunteers who work at Breton Ability and who are from the community and want to make a difference in the lives of individuals with varying abilities. If you have one hour to spare each month, we encourage you to please contact David Farmer at 902-539-7640 Ext. 3349 or via email at dfarmer@cb-bac.ca
