Disability Pride Month
July is Disability Pride Month. It is a time to honour people with disabilities, their strength, their stories, and celebrate everything that makes them who they are.
Last summer, one of our group homes went camping for the first time at Two Rivers Wildlife Park. For many of us, camping is something we did every summer. As kids and as adults, we sat around campfires, told stories, and fell asleep under the stars. These are memories we keep in our hearts.
For the individuals we support, this camping trip was so special. They spent two days exploring the park, meeting the animals, having campfires, and sleeping in cabins with their friends. It gave them the chance to make memories they will cherish for the rest of their lives.
Your donations help make trips like this happen. The Charitable Foundation pays for things that bring joy, comfort, and new experiences to people. This includes recreational programs, camping trips, tickets to community events, birthday and Christmas gifts, and heat pumps to keep homes warm in the winter and cool in the summer. When you give to the Breton Ability Charitable Foundation, you help create special moments like this camping trip. You help people feel included, proud of who they are, and excited for each new day. Your support makes these life-changing experiences possible.
