Breton Ability Centre Board Member
Wil lives in Sydney River with his wife Krista and their three children. He enjoys spending his free time with family, at their cottage in Inverness or on a hiking trail with their three dogs.
Wil is the Recreation Director at Maple Hill Manor, where he has been part of the leadership team for the past eight years. He has been working in Therapeutic Recreation for the past 15 years in Long Term Care. He has a passion for working with individuals with dementia and helping them to live a meaningful life. He is a trainer in Montessori Methods for Dementia, Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care, and Dementia: Understanding The Journey.
Wil is also the President of Soccer Cape Breton, an organization that he has volunteered with for over 10 years as a coach, interim technical director and now as President. He has a passion for sport and is also a referee for basketball and soccer. He is a coach for Special Olympics Active Start and FUNdamentals programs.
Wil is a graduate of Holland College’s Diploma in Sport and Leisure Management as well as Cape Breton University’s Bachelor of Arts Community Studies with a concentration in Sport and Human Kinetics.
Wil is excited to join the Breton Ability Centre board of directors and looks forward to working with the board to provide a positive quality of life for the residents of BAC.
