After more than two years of retirement, Darryl never really slowed down.
He kept showing up for the people around him. He helped staff when they needed a hand. He checked in on friends. Volunteering was just part of who he is. Darryl is a true gentleman. He finds joy in helping others and takes pride in doing things right.
When Darryl heard about new opportunities at ThriveAbility, he didn’t wait.
He sat down with his social support coordinator and talked about what he enjoys and where he would feel most comfortable. They looked at different departments and found a role that fit him well. With a bit of support, Darryl completed his application.
Before long, he was invited for an interview.
Not long after that, he got the call.
Darryl was offered a position in the recycling department.
He stepped back into the workforce with excitement and pride. He was ready to work, connect with others, and do what he loves.
Because meaningful work is about more than just a job.
It’s about feeling like you belong.
It’s about having a purpose.
And it’s about using your strengths in a way that matters.
Congratulations, Darryl!
