Fundraising Priorities

Breton Ability Centre’s charitable foundation was created to enrich the lives of our residents by funding programming and recreational opportunities, like day trips, participation in community events and more. The profits from our social enterprises support our charitable foundation, but we also rely on generous and consistent support from our donors. Your donations make a difference to each and every person we serve!

Give the gift of joy all year long

2023 marks the fourth year for our holiday campaign at Breton Ability Centre. Last year, our annual holiday campaign helped us to raise over $41,000 to fund programs and infrastructure that improves the quality of life for the individuals we support – thank you so much! Your support means the world.

In past years, our generous donors have funded experiences that bring genuine joy to the individuals we support – you can see it in their broad smiles and bright eyes. A day at the Wildlife Park, dining at a local restaurant, attending a sporting event, or taking the gondola up to the top of Cape Smokey may seem like simple outings, but they are really opportunities to develop social skills, build self-esteem and connect with community—making your impact profound.

This year, we’re excited to create more memorable opportunities and to foster life skills and independence. Please know the important role you play in building a welcoming, inclusive community for all and thank you for helping us make this possible.

This holiday season, we hope you’ll consider supporting Breton Ability Centre and thank you for giving the gift of joy!

BAC Charitable Committee

Each month, a dedicated group of staff and volunteers meet as our Charitable Foundation Committee, and work together to help improve the lives of individuals residing at BAC. Our committee is always seeking enthusiastic volunteers who work at BAC and who are from the community and want to make a difference in the lives of individuals with varying abilities. If you have one hour to spare each month, we encourage you to please contact David Farmer at 902-539-7640 Ext. 3349 or via email at dfarmer@cb-bac.ca

You can help improve the lives of Breton Ability Centre residents.
